Which regions does MPE currently support?

We have three adjoining buildings in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan for production and post-production rental.

Do you have a sister company?

Yes, Motion Picture Enterprises has a sister company, Hell's Color Kitchen (HCK). HCK specializes in Post-Production Sound and Picture Finishing Services.

What is the difference between offline and online editing?

Offline editing involves using lower-resolution proxy files or copies of original footage to perform initial editing tasks. Online editing entails working with high-resolution files to finalize edits with detail-orientated changes.

Who is involved in post-production?

Colorists, foley artists, editors, sound engineers and other experts collaborate in post-production.

What equipment is needed for post-production?

Depending on the scope of the project, post-production uses various tools and equipment. The equipment can include specialized software like video editing suites, visual effects software and audio interfaces.

Can I rent video or film post-production equipment?

Motion Picture Enterprises offers graphic workstations, custom-built computers, HD VTRs and more post-production equipment to rent.

What is remote editorial?

Remote editorial is the process of editing, collaborating and completing post-production from a location other than the physical production studio or facility. This process requires using cloud-based storage, video conferencing, a high-speed internet connection and collaborative software for seamless collaboration and workflow.

Can I work at your facility and remotely?

We have turnkey production office spaces to rent and editing suites in our 60,000-square-foot Midtown Manhattan facility, and we also offer remote hosting options if that works better for your needs.

What are your storage options?

We offer shared, local, LTO and cloud-based storage solutions to ensure that your files are secure and backed up for future use.

How do you receive media?

There are two ways we receive media; through local drives or via uploading and downloading through the cloud.

What color grading services do you offer?

Our team uses premium tools to adjust contrast, brightness, saturation, color balance and hue to give you consistent results using colors that match your production's intent.

How many colorists do you have on staff?

MPE has 5 permanent colorists on staff. MPE also employs upwards of 10 freelance artists at a given time based on client and project needs.

What materials will your colorists need to complete the color grading for a project?

Our award-winning colorists often use color grading software like DaVinci Resolve, and they will need the high-resolution media and a reference photo of the project to complete the color grading for you.

What if we have our own colorist but need the equipment to color grade?

Your team can access one of our finishing suites and enjoy accommodations that meet your budget, staffing and time requirements.

How many color grading suites do you have?

We have upwards of 20 color grading suites.

What sound finishing services do you offer?

Our award-winning sound mixers can design and mix your project in our Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 Certified Studio, and we can also offer 5.1 and Stereo mixes.

What materials will your sound mixer need to complete the sound finishing?

Our top-ranking sound engineers use professional-grade audio software such as Pro Tools. They will need all the recorded audio to design and mix the project.

How many sound mixers do you have on staff?

MPE has 4 permanent sound mixers on staff. MPE also employs upwards of 10 freelance artists at a given time based on client and project needs.

What if we have our own sound mixer but need equipment?

MPE delivers, installs and offers support for all varieties of post-production rental gear, including Adobe, Avid and Resolve Systems. Your sound team can also use our studio independently.

How many sound mixing studios do you have?

We have upwards of 15 sound mixing suites

In what format will I receive my video files?

Based on clients' criteria, MPE can deliver files in any format applicable.

Is MPE's post-production workflow secure?

Our infrastructure has multiple dedicated internet circuits and firewalls, running at 10 gigabits per second. This means that your post-production runs securely and without lag.

Has MPE undergone content security assessments by studios and received approval?

MPE has completed security assessments and been approved by major networks including, Amazon Studios, Apple TV, Netflix, PBS, Paramount, A&E, Showtime, and more.

What security measures do you have in place for your physical facilities?

Our facilities are accessible via a dedicated key card, and we provide 24/7 video monitoring to keep your gear safe.

Yes. We have a team of post-production and IT engineers who consistently cover all systems.
